Description

One has to pass through a series of task to attain the title of ARTIFICE. These would include designing building plan, finding a clue through riddle and to make a perfect model using given material. The event consists of 2 rounds. In first round they will be given A1 size sheet and they have to prepare a building plan of (G+1) storey in the given area as per building bye laws, one requirement of costumer like (consultancy room, prayer room, study room, etc.)  And NBC (National building code). In the second round one has to pass through treasure hunt and will have to prepare a model according to the concept of green building.

Team Specification

  • Team should consist of maximum 3 players and minimum 2 players.

  • Students from different institutes can form a team for the event.

  • Student should carry the valid college identity cards of their respective institute at the time of reporting.

  • Switching of team members during the on-going event will not be allowed.

  • Use of any kind of help from Google is strictly prohibited.


Task

Round 1: Planning for residential building.

  • The Main objective of this round is to make a detail plan according to building bye laws and one requirement of costumer like (consultancy room, prayer room, study room, etc.) for the respective (G+1) storey building and the model will have to be design according to this plan.

  • In this round the planning criteria will be given to participants and they have design the detail plan for the building (G+1 storey).

  • No. of team advancing the next round will be decided by the judges.

Round 2: Treasure Hunt & Model Making

  • In this Round one has to find the clues by solving the riddles.

  • After solving the riddles one can earn the score and this score will help them to buy the materials required for designing their respective model.

  • After collecting the materials one has to prepare the model according to the plan which they have designed in the Round 1.

  • Model made by them should be presented according to green building concept.

  • The presentation of the model to the judges will also carry weightage


Rules
  • A1 Sized sheets will be provided.

  • One has to mention the dimensions properly in their respective plan.

  • The decision of judges cannot be challenged.

  • Strict discipline should be maintained during the event.

  • Violation of any rule will be followed by instant disqualification.

  • No time limit in Round 1 but the scoring based on  time spend for draw a plan and planning of building with proper detail and requirement.

  • No external help permitted.

  • Required materials for preparing the model will be provided.

  • Maximum time limit in Round 2 is 60 min for treasure hunt for finding clues. And 120 min for making model.

  • Judges decision shall be final and binding above all.


Judging Criteria
  • One who makes a correct model in a given time will be declared as a winner​​​​​​​
  • Participants and one securing top 2 position along with complying to all rules and regulations will be awarded with certificate

Positive markings:

  • Preciseness

  • Degree of data represented

  • Creativity

  • Innovation

  • Feasibility

  • General principles for Building planning (orientation , margin , set back etc)

  • Presentation of model according to green building concept

Negative markings:

  • Untidiness in drawing the building plan in sheet

  • Non-compliance to GDCR and NBC

Judges:

1)Any one Industry Expert with minimum 10 years of experience in the relevant discipline

OR

1)Any one Academic Expert with minimum 10 years of experience in relevant discipline

2)Any one faculty from any other GTU affiliated college in the same zone

OR

2)Any one faculty from the Host Institute
